Ingham County voters had their voices heard during yesterday’s primary election. 104 of the County’s precincts had the Capital Area District Library’s millage renewal question on their ballots, and were asked whether or not to continue funding the library. According to the Ingham County Clerk’s unofficial election results page (CADL info is at the very bottom of that page), this was the final count:

Vote – Count – Percent

YES – 29,214 – 71.45%

NO – 11,671 – 28.55%

Total – 40,885 – 100.00%

The Capital Area District Library is celebrating today! Thanks to the voters in Ingham County, the Capital Area District Library millage has been renewed for another four years. Despite decreased revenues due to falling property values, CADL is committed to doing more with less. That means we will continue to provide the communities we serve with excellent services, essential technologies and exciting programs. From all of us at CADL, thank you for your support in these challenging times.

Stop in soon to let us know how we can help you, especially if you’ve never visited a Capital Area District Library or www.cadl.org before. Our service to the community includes a wide variety of reading materials, job-seeker tools, small business resources, Internet access, Wi-Fi, computer instruction, downloadable e-books and audiobooks, DVDs, magazine and database subscriptions, special teen collections and programs, children’s programs, an extensive local history collection, English resources for speakers of other languages and much more.

The Capital Area District Library system serves all of Ingham County except the City of East Lansing. We have libraries in the communities of Aurelius, Dansville, Haslett, Holt-Delhi, Lansing, Leslie, Mason, Okemos, Stockbridge, Webberville and Williamston. In addition, our bookmobile stops at more than 30 Ingham County locations. For more information, visit cadl.org.
